Ouddorp – Rotterdam

It was definitely going to rain at some point this morning, we even thought about staying at the hotel until it passed. We headed up onto the cycle path along the coast, still windy, but a great tail wind.

Going through the towns is good. The cycle paths are completely integrated, so easy to cycle through with no traffic, they even have mini cycle-roundabouts. I panicked when Mike mentioned we were about to go through a town, no need to though, we either didn’t see any cars or they all stopped when you approached a crossing, all car drivers were very polite.

It did eventually start raining, but not for very long. It gets really industrial on the way into Rotterdam, but the never ending cycle paths just keep on giving and there is a crazy cycle tunnel under the river.

We checked into the Ibis hotel and had some snacks at the bar as we were starving. After a quick shower and a beer, we went for a walk into the centre and to the market. There isn’t loads to do here, but it’s nice, the buildings are cool. We chose a Mexican restaurant for tea, three small meals to start, then another two. Nachos were good.
