Second breakfast at the bicycle cafe. Then a long walk (on the hottest day yet) with our backpacks to the car hire rental place. We were given a chrysler 200 in blue, automatic, nice car, happy. Mike took to American driving like a duck to water. How to do a left turn, do 3 right turns! Lovely drive to Glenwood Springs. The scenery was amazing.
All checked in, best room so far. Did some exploring, just a lovely place, warm, relaxing and friendly.
Decided to drive to Walmart for some supplies, because we could in the car and we had a fridge in the room. I did not get used to the driving as well as Mike did. Everything was wrong left foot and arm have nothing to do. Panicked a bit about stalling too.
Walmart was not as we thought it would be, its just like a cash and carry…they had no wine. A kind man told us to go to Safeway, which was much more like a normal supermarket, to us, we stocked up on sandwiches and snacks ready for the next few days.
Good job you took Mike then!!! Sounds like a lovely place. Thank goodness for Safeway. X
