High Line

We started today by walking down The High Line. It is a disused railway line from the 20’s which is now a garden, 30ft above ground, stretching down the west side of Manhattan, with views over the Hudson river.

From here, we took the Subway across to Brookyln. The complete opposite side; over the East river. There are views of the Statue of Liberty and the Manhattan skyline, the bridge is quite cool, stopped for some chips, ice-cream (the biggest and most calorific) and a posh bottle of cold coffee. Walking back over the bridge was ace, loads of cyclists and pedestrians.DSC00466

We thought we had finally managed to work the subway out properly now, with the different routes, express trains, local trains, numbers, letters and colours, but got off at the complete wrong stop when finding the restaurant for dinner :-). TripAdvisor is ace, we went to a Pizza place which is rated 26 out of more than 10,000 restaurants in NY, just off Time Square, it was pretty good.
