Empire State Building

This morning we slept in! After a few days of being up quite early due to the time difference, it would appear we have become accustomed. Met Mum and Aunty Joan and we headed straight to the Empire State Building. The weather was clear when we left, however in the queue we were warned that it was limited visibility and the cloud was coming down. At the top, we could just about see the Statue of Liberty; it got even worse than the photo with a little bit of snow. Good to get perspective of where we had been and we could also see our hotel on Long Island.

After Wendy’s for lunch we headed Uptown to the Guggenheim Museum where we took some pictures of the building as it was pretty cool then we went for a wander round another part of the Central Park. They have a one way running track around the reservoir, which Mike thought was brilliant.

Heading back to Times Square and picking tickets for a show we decided on Planet Hollywood for food. We weren’t sure what to expect, it was very noisy and we were followed in by a big group, but it was ace. Big portions.

Next stop was West 45th Street to see Matilda. It was brilliant, Matilda was excellent; Miss Trunchbull, who was played by a man, was a hoot.
