After a wholesome breakfast of waffles, muffin crumpets and scrambled egg we headed out to rent some bikes to follow a route into Glenwood Canyon. We were offered a shuttle ride out to then cycle back but we decided just to cycle both ways, it was only 31 miles (50km) there and back, which we have both done before. It was slightly uphill on the way there, it followed the Colorado River and we saw some amazing scenery. There were plenty of stops on the way where we could have a rest and grab some water.
As we turned around to start our journey back, even though it was downhill, what we didn’t realise was that the wind had been pushing us out, the wind was therefore in our faces and it got quite difficult to cycle at times. We made it back in one piece, exhausted, ace bike ride though.
Got turned around and headed out for some drinks and popped into a Mexican restaurant for some really tasty food.
Looks wonderful. Lovely blue skies. You are certainly getting plenty of exercise.
