We had a chat with Roberto (Air bnb owner) over breakfast, it was nice, chatted about American and UK cultures.
Caught the “L” train to downtown Chicago where we walked to Millenium Park to see the Bean. Beautiful area. Got some sandwiches and headed to the lake shore. It is just lovely, the contrast between the skyscraper buildings and the lake shore just made the city. We love it. I’m sure the sunny weather helped although it does feel like more of a relaxed city than New York. Walked along the lake shore to see this view below…what can I say, the picture speaks for itself.
We had booked on an Historical Skyscrapers Architecture walking tour, I will never look at a building in the same way again. The lady was very interesting and picked out the detail of the buildings that would normally be missed. Really good.
We then took a 7km walk along the lake shore back to Lincoln Park (where we are staying), and into a rooktop bar for a well deserved cocktail, chips and amazing views across the park.
Wow looks amazing. Another busy day then..x
